We understand that seeking funds can be daunting and time-consuming. That’s why the Live Big team is here to help by offering grant-writing support and guidance on navigating funding options and crafting winning proposals.
Funding for LiveBig programs is available through multiple sources at the federal, state, and local level:
Federal Grants
While the future of federal education funding remains uncertain, several existing programs have supported school-based mental health initiatives like LiveBig in the past.
Individuals with Disabilities Education Act (IDEA) requires some districts to allocate part of their funding to early intervention services, including Multi-Tiered Support (MTSS).
Every Student Succeeds Act (ESSA), including:
Title I mental health services are an allowable school improvement strategy.
Title II supports educator training and recruiting high-quality teachers, principals, and school leaders.
Title IV-A funds evidence-based strategies that meet student social, emotional, and mental well-being needs and create positive, inclusive, and supportive school environments.
State and Local Initiatives: States often have programs for mental health services, and Local Educational Agencies (LEAs) may allocate funds for these purposes. Consult with your state education department and school district to identify these funding sources.
Community Partnerships: Collaborations with local health agencies, nonprofits, and community-based organizations are also sources of funding. Get to know these groups in your local community for further information.
