“I have created, purchased, and delivered a lot of curriculum over the years. The Live Big Community curriculum is the closest to ‘no-prep’ I have ever encountered. The lesson guides are thorough, the concepts are relatable, the kids love coloring the worksheets, and I have everything I need to help my students build mental health skills.”

Josh Evans, High School Social Studies Teacher

Our Core Curriculum consists of 5 Modules, each with 5 individual Lessons that empower students (grades 4-12) to connect to their mind, body, and character.

The Core Curriculum Lessons are designed to build upon each other, creating a series of foundational skills in the areas of Confidence, Resilience, and Self-Leadership.

Take a look at what’s covered in each Module of our Core Curriculum

Module 1: Connect. Create. Be.

The students explore & learn:

  • What it means to Live Big and how to create confidence, resilience, and self-leadership skills

  • How to identify their Limiting Beliefs and separate their identity from their negative self-talk (Voice of Small)

  • How to reframe their Limiting Beliefs into Big Beliefs to create more choice in their lives

  • The ways our bodies speak to us, how bodies hold tension, and how to release tension using The Edges of My Body

  • How to recognize and celebrate the essence of who they are (their character) with the I Am activity

Module 2: Create Confidence

The students explore & learn:

  • A new definition of confidence that focuses on knowing who they are and believing in their capability and possibility

  • How their Voice of Small wants them to be perfect and how to choose to leave their comfort zone, which requires moving through the fear and learning zones to the growth zone

  • How their body creates a series of Safety Shapes to keep them safe, and how these shapes impact their ability to be confident

  • What it's like when they have the most confidence and how to create this confidence no matter what they’re doing, who they’re with, or the situation they’re in

  • How to move out of their Safety Shape and create confidence in their bodies at any moment

Module 3: Create Resilience

The students explore & learn:

  • A new definition of resilience that focuses on the ability to cope with stress and resource yourself rather than mental "toughness” or pushing through

  • Why it's important to create practices and have tools for building and maintaining resilience

  • How to locate where stress lives (and how it feels) in their body and practice releasing it through body scanning, visualization, and movement

  • How to build their baseline and create in-the-moment resilience by filling their Resilience Jar

  • The power of music to help them reconnect to self, regulate their energy, and shift their state

Module 4: Create Self-Leadership

The students learn & explore:

  • What self-leadership is and how to be a leader in their life

  • The difference between reacting automatically (Chain Reaction) and choosing an aligned response, especially in challenging situations

  • How to Pause, Connect, Choose how they respond in life

  • How to notice and grow awareness of where they feel emotions in their body

Module 5: Be PowerFULL

  • How to examine their relationship with fear, why it holds them back, and how it can shape how they show up in the world

  • How to use movement to generate a feeling of being PowerFULL in their body

  • How to create and be their own version of PowerFULL

  • How to support each other to be PowerFULL

When product designers leverage learning sciences to design their products, educators can better target instruction, and students’ skills soar. Through interviews with the product designers, an evaluation of their research-informed activities, and an investigation of student feedback, this product meets the criteria for LXD Research’s ESSA Level 4 Evidence.
